The point of clarity

It is said that there are two very important days in the life of a human, the day they are born and the day they find out why. Well I don’t believe in destiny but I do believe that every human life has a purpose that develops as they live their lives. So the day they find out this reason is the point of clarity. Only a lucky few experience a point of clarity, the majority just waddle around in their life until they die.

I happen to be one of the lucky few who has experienced a point of clarity, in fact I have experienced quite a few. One of my earliest point of clarity happened to me when I was as young as five.

But this post is not about me. It is about you, it is about everybody.

There are individuals who seem to be jealous of the people who know what to do in life. They things like:-

“You are so lucky! You know what you want to do!”

Well, why don’t you? It is not nearly as magical a feeling as you perceive it to be. It does not mean that suddenly, you can see a clear path laid out for you by some mysterious golden light. All problems do not solve themselves immediately and life does not suddenly become a fairy tail.

Instead, the point of clarity is a subtle nudge or an easy victory that makes you wonder:-

“hmm, maybe I could do that!”

And then you practice that and you like practicing that. You have one type of work that does not ever exhaust you. You want to keep doing it, and that is the magical part.

So maybe you have experienced the point of clarity and are just ignoring your calling because it is easier to ignore or maybe you honestly don’t have a clue about your calling. If it is latter, then try more things out and keep doing more until you realize that maybe you could do that in life.

So to quote the alchemist (probably not accurate):-

“When you truly want something, then the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

The first step you take will be an easy one, that is how you know that this is what you truly want. Then every subsequent step will be ever more difficult, you will be challenged and your faith questioned. You will doubt your ability to do so countless of times but if you keep walking and keep trying, you are going to achieve what you want.

So, I ask you, what makes you tick? When was your point of clarity? What was it about? Sometimes thinking about it in order to write it anywhere really helps.
